Aerospace industry organization applauds government support

September 7, 2010, 09:48 pm

Technological advancements have been blamed for causing much of the world's pollution. From homes and cars to aircraft, all have been cited as contributing to the deterioration of the globe.

While it's not realistic to expect people to stop using the aforementioned advancements, there are things that can be done to make their environmental impact less severe.

The Aerospace Industries Association recently applauded President Barack Obama's suggestion to enhance air traffic control in the country. The governments effort's could help reduce the impact of the aerospace industry on the environment.

"We are very pleased to see the recognition that our national airspace system cannot be transformed by focusing on runways alone," said AIA president and CEO Marion Blakey. "NextGen (Next Generation) is the future of a safer, cleaner, quieter aviation system and its implementation requires attention to both ground and airborne infrastructure."

NextGen is part of the Federal Aviation Administration's plan to make flying safer and more eco-friendly as air traffic increases through 2025. A large number of jobs are also expected to be created as a result of the government's investment in NextGen.ADNFCR-3158-ID-19936797-ADNFCR
