AOPA announces new membership benefits

According to General Aviation News, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association recently unveiled its AOPA Lifestyles Member Discounts initiative, a free membership benefit that gives pilots discounts on a number of aviation-associated products and services.
The list of companies that accept the discount benefit is growing, and currently includes aircraft gear outfitters, radio communication and car rental companies, among a number of other services.
"As we continue to roll out this new membership benefit, our goal is to make AOPA membership even more valuable by expanding the program with dozens of useful, high-value discounts that make flying more affordable," AOPA vice president of planning, products and corporate partnerships Ed Thompson told the source. "We’re committed to helping our members save money, offsetting the cost of AOPA membership and providing even more savings that will help them fly more often."
Membership offers one-time discounts and exclusive access to special offers at some pilot outfitters, as well as uniform percentage discounts at select retailers. Many aviation organizations like the AOPA offer discounted rates on pilot insurance policies through group plans. Term life insurance for pilots offers coverage specifically tailored to aviation risk, unlike many standard life insurance policies.
