Three found dead in plane crash wreckage

November 10, 2011, 06:28 pm

A small plane recently went missing after departing from the Glendale airport on a flight to Lake Havasu City. Early Wednesday morning, The Federal Aviation Administration heard reports that the plane never arrived at its destination. The pilot was not responding to air traffic control communications and did not file a flight plan. The FAA has also received no signals from the plane's Emergency Location Transmitter.

The Tucson Citizen reported the Mojave County Sheriff's Office sent search and rescue teams and a helicopter to scan the area for a crashed plane.

ABC 15 Glendale Arizona reported the sheriff's department found the wreckage of the plane near Alamo Lake, 113 miles north of Phoenix. The crash site found three passengers dead inside the Cessna 182.

According to [an? the?] Arizona Family, the pilot of the plane was Lake Havasu City Fire Department Captain Don Mesisca and his wife and son. The family had traveled to Glendale to watch an Arizona Cardinals game and was on their way home when the crash occurred. The family had season tickets and frequently made the flight to Glendale to see the NFL team.

Currently, the FAA does not know the exact cause of the crash. However, the source reported that a storm was moving into Arizona the night of the crash. It is another example of the need for pilot insurance
