Jeppesen now flexible with pricing

July 30, 2012, 02:07 pm

Jeppesen recently introduced a new digital JeppView navigation data subscription price structure at the Experimental Aviation Association's AirVenture. The new model for pricing allows customers to pick between two or four installments for Jeppesen data that come with a digital JeppView subscription and is available through Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck or a personal computer.

Company officials expect the new pricing structure to be available within the next two months. Customers who choose the two installment option rather than four will receive nearly 35 percent savings for the same chart coverage area purchased.

“We listen closely to our customers and adapt our products and services to meet their needs,” said Tim Huegel, director of Jeppesen Aviation Portfolio Management. “Providing flexibility with our JeppView pricing related to the number of install data access points received allows our customers to choose what works best for their individual needs and offers reduced subscription costs for those using fewer devices powered by Jeppesen data.”
JeppView data subscriptions are only available for pilots in the general aviation community and provide coverage areas on a wide range from small regions to worldwide. the JeppView data subscription options begin at $76 annually and give customers access to the Jeppesen mobile application for iPad and Galaxy tablets.

Jeppesen also recently announced that it will provide its industry leading NavData navigation information and charting services in several bundle options for the G1000 avionics systems. Customers can now choose between various options that are relevant to their flight schedules and include Jeppesen NavData, Jeppesen eCharts and Garmin FliteCharts.

“This new arrangement between Jeppesen and Garmin for G1000 avionics follows on the success of our previous bundle services offered, such as with the Garmin GTN avionics series,” said Scott Reagan, director of Jeppesen OEM Client Management.  “We are working to provide Jeppesen and Garmin customers with discounted, bundle services that deliver industry-leading data and technical support with the top avionics systems available in a true one-stop shop experience.”

The company also offers computer-based training for the Garmin GPSMAP 696 avionics platform, providing users with scenario-based, guided simulation training that covers all operational aspects of the platform. The new program allows pilots to learn in the comfort of their own homes and provides on-screen prompts and real-time feedback enabling quick learning.

Pilots considering training for the platform or considering any of Jeppesen's latest services should also consider pilot life insurance to ensure finances are secure.
