NetJets completes largest private aviation order in history

June 14, 2012, 03:47 pm

NetJets, a leader in private aviation owned by Berkshire Hathaway, announced recently it will add 425 new aircraft from Cessna and Bombardier to its fleet. The transaction is worth $9.6 billion - the largest private aviation order in history - launching the NetJets Signature Series of aircraft.

"This purchase demonstrates our long-term planning and represents our ongoing commitment to providing unparalleled safety and service in aircraft uniquely customized for our owners," said NetJets Chairman and CEO Jordan Hansell. "Beyond the size of this order, what makes the new NetJets Signature Series special are the latest in aircraft technology and in-cabin comfort features we will deliver for our owners.”

NetJets will be purchasing up to 275 Bombardier Challenger aircraft, with deliveries beginning in 2015, and up to 150 Cessna Citation Latitudes, deliveries beginning in 2016.

NetJets also offers the Carbon Offset Program, which is completely voluntary and allows owners who are interested to reduce carbon emissions by the same amount they are putting into the atmosphere when flying their planes.

In order for the aviation industry to make such large purchases, pilots have to be there to support the flight demand. Life insurance for pilots is available online to ensure their financial future.
