AEA opens registration for convention

December 3, 2012, 05:11 pm

The 56th annual Aircraft Electronics Association International Convention & Trade Show will convene in Las Vegas on March 25 to 28 at the MGM Grand Hotel & Convention Center. The event will feature more than 75 hours of avionics technical training courses and a new exhibit hall showcasing new aviation technologies debuting in 2013.

The AEA International Convention & Trade Show will primarily focus on providing avionics professionals with educational and marketing opportunities, along with training and networking among equipment manufacturers, distributors, technicians and owners of government-certified repair stations. It is not open to the public.

The event will feature more than 135 exhibitors of new avionics technology, more than $100,000 in scholarships for avionics and maintenance students, recognition for various AEA awards, social events and networking opportunities, and the 32nd Lowell Gaylor Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit the AEA Educational Foundation.

“The AEA is thrilled to be in Las Vegas for our 56th International Convention & Trade Show,” said Paula Derks, AEA president. “Our attendees will have the opportunity to network with their industry peers and keep up-to-date with industry trends by seeing new products with the major suppliers under one roof. In this new world of social media, text messaging, emailing and webinars, one thing remains constant: Our attendees still want to see, touch and talk product face-to-face.”

The event will also feature a special offering by the AEA Educational Foundation in partnership with the National Center for Aerospace and Transportation Technologies. Registered event attendees will be offered free Aircraft Electronics Technician certification and endorsement exams.

An early-bird registration rate is currently being offered to current AEA members, providing $150 in savings to those who register prior to January 4, 2013. The cost for full registration without a discount is $675 and includes AEA Fast Trak sessions, seminars and technical workshops, AEA Exhibit Hall entrance for three days, as well as the AEA’s First-Nighter Party, Awards Luncheon and Closing Reception.

For those in the aviation community looking to save on equipment from this year, PilotMall.com recently launched its 12 Days of Savings event providing discount gifts from now until December 9. The website is encouraging consumers to check PilotMall.com each day, as a new item is featured on the list of discounted gift ideas.

Pilots purchasing gifts during the holiday season are encouraged to secure their family's financial future by purchasing pilot life insurance, which makes sure family members are looked after no matter what happens.
